DISTRIBUTION. Only known from Cambodia and Laos (Vientiane, Laos = type locality) .

NOTE. The type specimens from Laos are differently colored, from deep brown to blackish, with legs always yellowish; aedeagi of specimens from Cambodia can slightly differ between specimens, with basal internal carina either regularly rounded ( Fig. 21f) or prolonged on each side by a right-angled process ( Fig. 21h). This species is related to A. (Chaetadoretus) villicollis Ohaus, 1914a . There are no external differences between both species. Adoretus (Chaetadoretus) laosensis has been originally described in the subgenus Adoretus Laporte, 1840 , however, the characteristics of its setae correspond to the subgenus Chaetadoretus as defined by OHAUS (1914a) to which it is here transferred.
