The records for Phyllodromica pallida from Bulgaria ( Harz 1984) were based on material collected from Pirin Mts. and identified by Chládek. After photographic observation of the materials in the Chládek’s collection the specimens were referred to Phyllodromica carniolica (compare the data for the latter species).
This species is widespread on the Balkan Peninsula and is recorded for Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Greece. According to own unpublished data (G. Hristov, unp.) the species occurs also in Albania and R Macedonia . Even though Ph. pallida has not yet been recorded, on the territory of Bulgaria, its occurrence in this country is very probable, based on the wide distribution of this species in the adjacent territories. The species usually inhabits meso- and xerothermic Oak and Hornbeam forests and meadows, dwelling within leaf litter, in low grass and shrubs.
