Ectobius burri burri Adel. : 19. Karaman & Karaman 1987: 3.

Notes to the literature data. In the paper by Karaman & Karaman (1987), the subspecific diagnostic characters are not clearly defined and thus identification of the concerned taxa is problematic. Therefore the subspecies categories of E. burri were not considered in the present work. From the new collected material from Bulgaria, we found specimens, which were different from the species E. balcani and E. erythronotus and they were similar to the characteristics suggested by Karaman & Karaman (1987), so the species E. burri Adelung was included in the checklist of cockroaches for Bulgaria .

Distribution in Bulgaria ( Fig. 73 View FIGURE 73 ): This species usually inhabits high-grass and low-shrub mesomorphic communities from the lowlands to 700 m alt. It keeps in the leaf litter or on the low vegetation, but sometimes climbs to the top of low trees and shrubs.

Studied material. 201 specimens (168 adults, 33 nymphs) and 7 oothecae.

General distribution. E. burri is known from Serbia, R Macedonia, Bulgaria, and North Greece .
