Centris bicornuta Mocsáry, 1899 View in CoL . 254.

Type data: Mocsáry (1899) did not mention how many female specimens he used to describe the species. A single female with original labels was found at HNHM being designated as the lectotype. Centris ceratocephala Cockerell, 1912 View in CoL . 45.

Type data: Cockerell (1912) did not mention where the type specimen was deposited. Moure et al. (2007) were unable to locate it but it is in fact at AMNH (examined). The specimen has the following data label: Manaos, Brazil Mann & Baker [printed]\ Centris ceratocephala Ckll Type. [handwritten]\ ac 33337 [handwritten]\ AMNH _IZC 00323435 [datamatrix code] [printed].

Comments: The word “Brasilia” on the label of C. bicornuta , as well as in C. fulviventris and C. klugii (see below) refers to the ancient denomination of the country in Latin and not to the current capital of Brazil. Taxonomic decision for synonymy: Moure et al. (2007). This species was correctly interpreted by Moure et al. (2007) and Vélez & Vivallo (2012).
