Measurements. Body length: 12.2–14.8 mm. CL: 0.62; EL: 2.18; ELS: 1.11; EW: 2.82; HL: 1.98; HW: 2.32; PO: 0.74; PL: 2.79; PW: 2.68.

Distribution. Before this study Ocypus aenescens was known from the provinces of Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, Xinjiang and Xizang. This species is recorded from Jilin Province for the first time and this locality is also the northernmost distribution record of Ocypus aenescens at present.
