( Figs 12–16 View FIGURES 12–16 )

Polyplectropus amphion Malicky 1997a View in CoL , 222, plate 6, Nepal.

Material examined. India: West Bengal, Suntalikhola , 27°00’48.20”N, 88º47’16.00”E, 24.ix.2018, Pathania & party ( NZC), 1 male GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis. The male genitalia of this species are similar to those of P. jotham Malicky 1993 (also reported from Nepal). However, in P. amphion , the preanal appendages are very broad, leaf-like in lateral view; the spiniform processes of the preanal appendages are strongly directed dorsad in lateral view; and the inferior appendages are broad basally, each with a spine-like, arched process at mid-length on the mesal surface and visible in ventral view. In contrast, in P. jotham , the preanal appendages are not as broad (only finger–like) and narrow in lateral view; the spiniform processes of the preanal appendages are not strongly bent; and the inferior appendages are broad but without any spines or arched processes at mid-length on the mesal surface in ventral view.
