Type locality: Colombia, Meta department, Restrepo ( Boshell and Kerr 1942). Type host: Proechimys chrysaeolus (Thomas, 1898) ( Rodentia : Echimyidae ). Type depository: USNM (lectotype) and MCZC (paralectotypes). Panama records. This species was found on Carollia subrufa (Hahn, 1905) ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ) in Cerro Pierre, Darién Province and

Bocas del Toro Province ( Brennan and Yunker 1966). Other records. Colombia ( Boshell and Kerr 1942), Peru ( Brennan and Jones 1961a), Trinidad and Tobago ( Brennan and Jones 1960 ; Brennan 1967), Venezuela ( Brennan and Reed 1975).
