Material examined: 72 Ƥ, 43 3 from Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan. Distribution: Turkey, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan. Remark. The lectotype of Sphex tenuicornis F. Morawitz was collected by General Alexander V. Komarov and donated to Ferdinand F. Morawitz.
