Notes on Herophydrus quadrilineatus Régimbart, 1895 View in CoL
Herophydrus quadrilineatus Régimbart, 1895:38 View in CoL was transferred to genus Hygrotus View in CoL subgenus Hygrotus View in CoL (s. str.) by Villastrigo et al. (2017b). Hydroporus quadrilineatus Crotch, 1873: 389 was published by its author as a synonym of Hydroporus impressopunctatus Schaller, 1783 (now Hygrotus (Leptolambus) impressopunctatus (Schaller, 1783)) View in CoL . Thus, at first glance Régimbart's name might be suspected being a junior secondary homonym of Crotch's name. The latter specific name is, however, not available because it was published as synonym and, thus, does not enter into homonymy (Article 11.6 of the ICZN 1999).
