Type (lectotype, first-step designated by Cramer 1981: 193):— INDIA, Deccan Peninsula ,? B. Heyne s.n. [Wall. Cat. no. 2025. 1829] ( K! four sheets; second-step lectotype, designated here: K barcode K000821613 ! left hand specimen, image of the lectotype is available in http://apps.kew.org/herbcat/getImage.do?imageBarcode= K000821613 ; synypes K! barcodes K001114920 !, K001114921 ! and K000821612 !) .

Notes:— Cramer (1981) indicated the specimen “s. coll., India, Wall. Num. List. 2025 ( K – WALL)” as the holotype of the name T. tomentosum B.Heyne ex Benth. In Kew herbarium, four duplicate specimens of Wallich Cat. no. 2025 exist, so the typification of Cramer can be considered as a first-step typification (Art. 9.17, Ex. 12 of the ICN, McNeill et al. 2012). We narrow here this designation by selecting the most complete specimen as a second-step lectotype.
