( Figs 8–16 View FIGURES 8 – 16 )

Diagnosis. Yellow species; posterior cercus with acuminate apex in lateral view ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ), without dorsal projections ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); phallus subcylindrical, wider at apex, with a narrow dorsal subbasal appendix and ventral subapical appendix ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ).

Ocellar tubercle protuberant, dark brown, without pruinescence; ocelli yellow. Antenna yellow with black bristles; postpedicel about 2X longer than pedicel; stylus about 2X longer than postpedicel. Proboscis yellow, shorter than head height. Thorax yellow, shiny ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Legs yellow except hind tibia with apical black ring and tarsomeres 4–5 black; hind tibia and tarsus with anterodorsal and posterodorsal row of longer bristles. Terminalia: Anterior cercus with proclinate dorsal projection in lateral view ( Figs 10, 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); concave in dorsal view ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); descendant plate with lower margin slightly bilobed and narrower than superior margin in posterior view ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Posterior cercus with acuminate apex in lateral view ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ), without dorsal projections ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Hypoproct subtriangular in lateral view ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ) and comma-shaped in posterior view. Epandrial ventral lobe with bilobed apex ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ), with spiniform bristles mesially on dorsal lobe, and longer bristles at apex of ventral lobe ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Hypandrium longer than wide, with median sinus apically ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ), without long bristles. Phallus subcylindrical, wider at apex, longer than hypandrium, with long and narrow dorsal appendix and short ventral appendix ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Subepandrial sclerite wider than long, U-shaped ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Bacilliform sclerite folded and longer than subepandrial sclerite ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Specimen length: 3.6 mm; wing length: 3.5 mm. Female. Unknown.

Geographical distribution. Colombia (Leticia) ( Fig. 211 View FIGURE 211 ).

Holotype condition. Left wing on microslide; abdomen in microtube with glycerin.

Etymology. The specific epithet is a tribute to Antonio Agudelo, the specimen collector.

Remarks. Opeatocerata agudeloi sp. nov. is similar to O. mourai sp. nov. by the posterior cercus with acuminate apex in lateral view ( Figs 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 , 132 View FIGURES 129 – 137 ), epandrial lobe bilobed at apex ( Figs 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 , 132 View FIGURES 129 – 137 ) and phallus with subbasal dorsal appendix ( Figs 15 View FIGURES 8 – 16 , 136 View FIGURES 129 – 137 ). Differs from the latter by the anterior cercus with proclinate dorsal projection in lateral view ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ) and phallus with ventral subapical appendix ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Opeatocerata mourai sp. nov. has the anterior cercus with dorsal pro and reclinate projections in lateral view ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 26 – 32 ) and phallus without ventral appendix ( Fig. 136 View FIGURES 129 – 137 ).
