Genus Dropursides n. gen.
Diagnosis. Dorsum and venter without sclerotized plates. Cx-I medially separated. Capitulum not fused with idiosoma, with a long anchoral process. Cx-IV with long posterior apodemes. Genital field with three pairs of acetabula. I-and II-leg-5 ventrally with a row of heavy setae and a row of hyaline setae. I- and II-leg-6 bowed, ventrally with numerous fine setae. Swimming setae absent. The genus is characterized by both I- and II-leg-5–6 modified. Ventral margin of PIV with two heavy setae, located close to each other.
Type species. Dropursides aberratus n. sp.
Etymology. Named for its similarity to Dropursa Cook. The gender of the new genus is masculine.
Remarks. In almost all characters the new genus is similar to Dropursa . However, the unusual modification of both the first and second leg warrants a separate generic status. Besides the difference in the modified second leg, other differences are found in the closely located heavy setae of PIV; in Dropursa these setae are well separated.
