Biogeography of Chinese Ptycholoma View in CoL species
(Fig. 5)
Most species of Ptycholoma are restricted to the Palaearctic region. In China, P. micantana is only known from Heilongjiang Province; P. imitator from the Northeastern (Heilongjiang, Jiling) and South areas (Fujian); and P. lecheana from the Northeastern (Heilongjiang, Jiling) and South areas (Hunan, Fujian) ( Liu & Li, 2002; Hua, 2005). In this study, we recorded P. lata only from its type-locality in Hunan Province, where P. lecheana also is recorded. P. l a t a can be regarded as a Palaearctic element because the type-locality is placed at the margin of the Palaearctic region, where many palaearctic plants such as Fagus (Fagaceae) are distributed. To the present, P. lecheana and P. lata have been confused with each other. To determine distributions and abundances of these two species, previous records of P. lecheana should be reexamined, and further field surveys should be conducted.
