Diagnosis. Length 4.2–4.7 mm. Testaceous red-brown, elytral pattern variable, may be from with to without black sutural spot behind middle ( Figs. 5, 6 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ).
Head irregularly punctate, punctures separated by 1 to 4 diameters. Clypeus smooth. Head and clypeus with distinct isodiametric microsculpture. Eyes large and bulging. Temples short, smooth, without microsculpture.
Pronotum 1.2 times as wide as head, 1.4–1.5 times as wide as long, widest behind marginal setae. Anterior margin straight, anterior angles effaced, sides regularly rounded, weakly sinuate at base, posterior angles rectangular. Punctation irregular and deep, somewhat sparser on disc. Lateral margin flat, explanate in basal half. Basal grooves indistinct, flat. Microsculpture strong, irregular.
Elytra suboval, 1.42–1.5 times as long as wide, with polygonal microsculpture. Striae deep and slightly punctate. Intervals convex at base.
Claws with 5 teeth.
Abdominal sterna smooth, shiny, with long sparse pubescence. Propleuron rugose towards coxae, mes- and metepisterna smooth.
Aedeagus ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 25 – 28 ). Aedeagal median lobe slender, ventral surface straight at midlength, apical fifth of lobe slightly downturned, tip long. Internal sac with two groups of 6 – 8 small and weakly sclerotized spines, and with two large microtrichial patches composed of extremely small spicules.
Distribution. It was described from Salisbury ( Zimbabwe), RSA (country record), Zambia (country record) and Zimbabwe (country record).
