Adults are medium sized (with wingspan of 28–72 mm), antennae are unipectinate or rarely bipectinate to tip in both sexes, forewing with reddish brown with circular, silvery white spots ( Edwards et al. 1999). Globally, the family comprises 57 species in six genera (Nieukerken et al. 2011) with most of the species reported from Australian and Ethiopian region ( Schulze & Fiedler, 1996). In India, the family is known by a single species only.
