Type locality: Sylhet [NE Bangladesh] .

Distribution in India: Sikkim, Assam, Maharashtra (West Bombay), Madhya Pradesh. Global records: Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Java, Gilolo, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Nepal. ( Hampson 1919; Kallies, Arita & Wang 2016, Singh et al. 2022a).

Remark. Melittia eurytion formosana Matsumura, 1911 (= Melittia eurytion nagaii Arita & Gorbunov 1997 ) was treated as subspecies from China by Kallies et al. (2016).
