Remarks. Former descriptions of larval S. thienemanni were published by Lundblad (1927), Sparing (1959), Ullrich (1976), Martin (2003, 2006) and Gerecke & Martin (2006).
The larval character which enables a separation from the other Sperchon species of the present study is the relatively large dorsal plate of S. thienemanni (length>180µm).
