M a t e r i a l. Ventral (?) valve (PCZCU 2281).

D e s c r i p t i o n. One smooth and poorly preserved flattened ventral (?) valve covered by 24 rounded simple evenly sized costae separated by evenly sized interspaces, all covered by fine concentric lines. The outline of the valve is slightly transverse, with obtuse cardinal extremities. Shell substance is impunctate.

R e m a r k s. The valve is similar to the small ventral valve of Mimatryp a STRUVE, 1964 in its undivided fine ribs but this determination is somewhat speculative. The valve resembles a minute shell of Tropidoleptus HALL, 1857 , but small individuals of this enigmatic genus are less transverse and have an endopunctate shell substance ( Harper et al. 2010). Costae on the flanks of specimen Mimatrypa (?) sp. are more prominent with smaller ones on the axial part, but in Tropidoleptus the sizes of costae decrease laterally.
