Diagnosis. This species is characterized by male and female frons and face wide; postgena setae stout; cell dm rather truncate; veins M 1, M 2 and CuA+CuP somewhat evanescent distally. Male. Tergite 8 ( Figs 7A, B View FIGURE 7 ) somewhat short, sinuous distally; all cercal lobes elongate dorsally ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ); hypandrium ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ) somewhat thin, without posterior setae; ejaculatory apodeme without dorsal lamella ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ); phallus same length of hypandrium.
Female. Tergite 8 and sternite 8 ( Figs 7E, F View FIGURE 7 ) very elongate; sternite 8 with a lateral lobe near base and a small internal protuberance with apex thin and elongate at distal third; genital fork ( Fig. 7G View FIGURE 7 ) small, with small cleft distally, with genital chamber membranous.
Geographical records. Ecuador, Peru.
Material examined. As listed in Rafael & Cumming (2006).
Remarks. This species was originally described based on the male holotype from Peru, Cuzco, Quincemil, plus lots of female specimens from the same locality and from Ecuador.
