Type species. Parachilota algoensis ( Michaelsen, 1899a: 104) .

Remarks.*) Ljungström (1969, 1972b) considered Parachilota Pickford, 1937 as a junior synonym of Udeina Michaelsen, 1910 . Both genera are proandric and avesiculate but they differ in the male reproductive system, acanthodriline in Parachilota , balantine in Udeina . Ljungström understood the so-called ‘balantine reduction’ as only a variation, observed at his time only in two proandric, acanthodriline, avesiculate species accredited to Udeina . The synonymy was not accepted later by ( Zicsi 1998; Plisko 2004, 2006; Csuzdi 2010) and Ljungström's new Udeina species needed revision. Examination of species descriptions and—when possible—type material made clear that several species of Udenia described by Ljungström (1969, 1972b) belong to Parachilota . Some of them have already been revised and transferred to Parachilota ( Plisko 2004, 2008); others are assessed in this checklist (see below).
