Holotype: ZIAR 892 , female, “Armenian SSR, Kirovokansky District, vicinity of Shagali village” [vicinity of Shahali , Lori Province, Armenia].
Etymology: Named after Sergey K. Dahl (1904–1982), Soviet zoologist—expert on the Caucasian fauna.
Present name: Darevskia dahli ( Darevsky, 1957) fide Ananjeva et al. (2006).
