In Canada, this commonly encountered eucnemid is known from Ontario. In the United states, R. bonvouloiri was previously taken from Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin ( Otto 2022b). The new state record is for New York. Two specimens were taken from Lindgren funnel traps in New York.
