TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.S. R., Caucasus Mtns., between Malka and Baksan Rivers, east of Mt. Elbrus .
DISTRIBUTION: W. Caucasus Mtns. (U.S.S. R.).
COMMENT: Probably should be included in ibex (RGVG) . Possibly caucasica is the prior name for cylindricornis , in which case this species should be termed severtzovi; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:407. See also comment under cylindricornis .
