TYPE LOCALITY: West Africa .
DISTRIBUTION: Sierra Leone to Togo; Cameroun, Central African Republic, Congo Republic; Zaire; Kenya; perhaps Gabon, N. Tanzania, and S.W. Ethiopia.
COMMENT: T. euryceros is a later spelling; see Haltenorth, 1963:86. Formerly placed in Boocercus ; reviewed by Ralls, 1978, Mamm. Species, 111:1-4.
PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix III ( Ghana) as Boocercus (Taurotragus) euryceros (sic).
