Neoplea maculosa ( Berg, 1879) View in CoL

Geographic distribution. Panama ( Platenkamp 1984), Colombia ( Morales & Molano 2008), Suriname ( Nieser 1975), Brazil ( Bachmann & López-Ruf 1994), Ecuador ( Cook et al. 2020), Peru ( Drake & Chapman 1953b), Bolivia, Paraguay ( Bachmann 1968), Argentina ( Berg 1879) .

Distribution in Peru. Ucayali ( Drake & Chapman 1953b).

Notes. The locality mentioned by Kirkaldy (1899d) for this species is in Argentina, not in Bolivia as interpreted by Bachmann (1968) and Nieser (1975). This taxon as currently defined probably corresponds to a complex of similar species ( Cook et al. 2020). Specimens from Panama ( Platenkamp 1984) and northern South America ( Nieser 1975; Morales & Molano 2008; Heiss et al. 2021; Bernal et al. 2022) probably correspond to undescribed species.
