Notes. The syntypes of E. cariniventris ( Champion, 1898) have been collected from Mexico to Panama; however, they might not be all conspecific. Specimens from Costa Rica deposited at the University of Kansas and identified as this species actually correspond to E. summatis ( Drake & Harris, 1934) ( Pacheco-Chaves et al. 2018) . Records of E. cariniventris from Costa Rica ( Champion 1898; Torre-Bueno 1906), Panama ( Champion 1898), Ecuador and Peru ( Kuitert 1942) are probably erroneous, while those from Mexico to Honduras and the Greater Antilles ( Champion 1898; Barber 1923, 1939; Drake & Harris 1928a, 1933a, 1934; Kuitert 1942; Wolcott 1950; Drake & Maldonado-Capriles 1954; Alayo 1967, 1974; Hernández 1994; Muñoz et al. 2010) are more likely to be correct.
