TRIAKIDAE (HOUNDSHARKS) View in CoL View at ENA

Two triakid species were included in the present study, namely Mustelus mosis and Iago omanensis . The M. mosis specimens formed a single cluster with two specimens from India reported by Naylor et al. (2012). Two clusters were evident within the I. omanensis specimens from the present study, one consisting of five specimens and the other containing the remaining 28 specimens ( Fig. 2 View Figure 2 ). Despite strong branch support for this division, the two I. omanensis clusters exhibited a between-group mean distance of only 1.38 ± 0.40%. Three geographically separated clusters were noted from 19 specimens by Naylor et al. (2012) designated I. omanensis (Gulf of Oman), I. cf. omanensis 1 ( India) and I. cf. omanensis 2 (Red Sea). The larger cluster of Oman specimens grouped with I. omanensis while the smaller cluster grouped with I. cf. omanensis 1.
