LAMNIDAE (MACKEREL SHARKS) View in CoL
This family was represented by a single species during the present study, namely Isurus oxyrinchu s, which formed a single cluster. Although two subclusters were reported by Naylor et al. (2012), the lack of geographical separation in the clustering of these 24 specimens led them to designate all of their specimens as I. oxyrinchus . The present specimens did not alter this arrangement, but it is interesting to note that all three Oman specimens grouped within the same subcluster (which consists primarily of western Pacific representatives).
