[Uttar Pradesh, later subdivided to create Uttarakand], 5550 ft., 1 June 1946, J. K. Uniyal ( USNM Drake). West Bengal: 1 male, Pashok, 2000 ft., Darjeeling Dist. , E. Himalaya, 26 May–14 June 1916, S. Indian Museum, F. H. Gravely ( USNM ex Drake).
Discussion. This species has a dark greyish-brown ground color, with the claval veins and embolium narrowly white, and additional white markings scattered on the corium, consisting of a small spot about halfway down the clavus and the outside of it; some short, narrow white patches along veins near the apex of the clavus; and two prominent elongate ovate spots in the two outermost cells bordering the base of the membrane. The membrane itself is predominantly fumate and lacks strong white markings, although the interiors of the closed cells are paler than the veins surrounding them. Overall, the coloration is reminiscent of certain species of Valleriola . The postocular spots are not well developed, and relatively inconspicuous. The central tumescence on the vertex is roughly circular, with a lower, transverse tumescence behind it.
