Habitat. Lattig & Martín (2011) recorded high densities of specimens associated with undetermined sponges in Qatar and Abu Dhabi (Persian Gulf). The Socotra Archipelago specimens were found in different types of substrate, including sand, hard substrate, macro algae, turf algae, hard coral, and soft coral.

Distribution. Red Sea, Korea, Japan, Australia (Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales, Northern Territory) ( Lattig et al. 2010), Persian Gulf.
