Apoplophora pantotrema ( Berlese, 1913) View in CoL
( Figs 1A–C View FIGURE 1 )
Measurements of one tritonymph from Fujian: Prodorsum: length 240 width 195, height 150, sensillus 115; setae: in 75, le 85, ro 85, ex 40; distance between setae: in–in 95, le–le 120, ro–ro 105, in–le 35, le–ro 50; “notogaster”: length 310, width 285, height 240, setae: c 1 55, c 2 70, c 3 80, d 1 50, e 1 65.
Diagnosis. Adult. Surface of body smooth or prodorsum with longitudinal striations; all prodorsal and “notogastral” setae densely barbed, exobothridial setae longer than diameter of bothridia, setae c 2 more remote from anterior margin than setae c 1 and c 3; six pairs of ventral setae thick and densely barbed; one or two pairs of setae on antero-lateral position, short, thin and smooth; six pairs of smooth genital setae present; “ano-adanal” setae two, three or four pairs, covered with small barbs.
Tritonymph. Prodorsum without lateral carinae; all prodorsal setae thick and densely barbed, exobothridial setae shortest and thinnest, but longer than diameter of bothridia; “notogaster” with 12 pairs of setae, all similar in shape to lamellar setae; setae c 2 more remote from anterior margin than setae c 1 and c 3; three pairs of minute genital setae and one pair of minute anal setae present; adanal plates with three pairs of setae, thick and densely barbed; plates P with two pairs of thick and densely barbed setae; plates Q with one pair of fine and smooth setae.
Material examined. ZMCAS: 3 tritonymphs (in alcohol, W-89-31, W-89-33, W-89-35), Fujian Province, Wuyi Mt., Guadun, from litter under dead wood, 30 Apr., 1989, leg.
