Biscutella intricata Jord. (1864: 308) View in CoL .
Neotype (designated here):— FRANCE. “ Biscutella intricata Jord., Tournon (Ardèche) , naturalisé à Villeurbanne près Lyon, fl. 25 avril 1866, ex Herb. Al. Jordan 187_ˮ (handwriting) leg. and det. A. Jordan ( LY0003446 !; iso- LY0003437 !, LY0005605 !, LY0006611 !, LY0006610 !, LY0003450 !, P04743626 !, P05384384 !, MPU028485 About MPU !).
Note: according to a note from 1850, the plant from Tournon was already grown in A. Jordan’s garden in 1846. In 1861 he writes about it “du jardin Chaben (?) de Tournonˮ. In the seedling notebooks, two sowings made in 1865 are indicated: n°659 from “ jardin de Tournon, Jardin Estachy 1864ˮ and n° 662 “de Tournon, naturalisé à Villeurbanne Lyon 1864ˮ. Reference is made to Dominique Estachy (1794?–1868), a botanist from Villeurbanne who used to grow rare taxa in his garden, but also to spread the apparently most vigorous ones on undeveloped lands surrounding ( Coquillat 1950, Cusin 1871). This was the case of Biscutella intricata which had consequently, at that time, an autonomous stand near Lyon. It’s also him who is cited in the protologue by Jordan: “Cette espèce a été semée, il y a quelques années, par un botaniste lyonnais…ˮ.
