Biscutella alsatica Jord. (1864: 300) View in CoL .

Lectotype (designated here):— FRANCE. “ Flora Galliae et Germaniae exsiccata de C. B., 510, Biscutella laevigata , L. mant. 225; K. Syn. 76: D. 41; G. et G. v. 1. p. 135., 17 mai 1848, Terrain graveleux du Polygone à Strasbourg, Rec. par E. Billot fils” (typed) det. G. Rouy ( LY0004720 ; iso- P00214063 , P05384562 )

= Biscutella laevigata subsp. varia (Dumort.) Rouy & Foucaud

Note: no sheet identified by A. Jordan could be found for this species in the numerous collections studied ; it is not mentioned in notes and seedling notebooks. The chosen type can be admitted as original material since the E. Billot centuriae n° 510 is homogeneous. The alluvial stand of the Rhin river was probably abyssal and transitory (it was not reported by the Société d’Etudes de la Flore d’Alsace, 1982) and regardless its origin, Vosges or Germany, it seems impossible that several taxa could coexist in this place at the same time ; the examined sheets are actually homogeneous. However, it is not clear whether it was the same (or one of the) microtaxon(a) as the present one in the Vosges or not.
