Calliopsis nigromaculata View in CoL specializes on pollen from plants in the family Euphorbiaceae ( Fowler 2020) View in CoL . This species was previously known only to Sonora, and this marks a new species record in the BCP based on a male we examined that was collected in the Central Desert of BC in March 2014 (CNIN). See fig. 30.
