This species is abundant in the southwestern USA and northwestern Mexico and specializes on pollen of Larrea tridentata (DC.) Coville ( Fowler 2020) . It has been reported in the Lower Colorado Desert with preserved specimen records in AMNH and BBSL ( GBIF 2023). The BBPT collected this species in the Lower Colorado Desert in February 2020 (1 ♀), the Central Desert in November 2020 (1 ♂; BC), and in the Vizcaíno Desert in March 2021 (3 ♂; BCS). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 154.
