Colletes simulans View in CoL specializes on pollen from late-blooming shrubs in the subfamilyAsteraceae, such as Chrysothamnus Nutt. View in CoL and Ericameria Nutt. ( Fowler 2020) View in CoL . This species represents a new record in the BCP. The BBPT collected this species the Coastal Sage Matorral in Maneadero in October 2020 (1 ♂) and in the Central Desert in Oasis Santa Ines in November 2020 (3 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC (1 ♀, 1 ♂), and ECOAB (2 ♀). See fig. 158.
