Triopasites penniger (Cockerell, 1894) View in CoL
[ Holotype: ANSP; ♀ Las Cruces , New Mexico, USA; July 29, 1893]
Triopasites penniger View in CoL is distributed in the xeric regions of northern Mexico and the southern USA. Bees in this genus are brood parasites of Anthophorula (Anthophorula) Rozen 1977 . We reviewed 15 specimens: eight males collected in June 1983 from Magdalena Plains, BCS ( SDNHM), two males collected in the Cape Mountains in October 1941, one male collected in Chaparral (BC) in July 1973 ( CASC), and four specimens collected in the Sarcocaulescent Shrubland ( BCS) in September 1977 ( LACM). Additionally, the BBPT collected this species in June 2020, March 2021, and May 2022 in the Chaparral and Coastal Sage Matorral of BC. Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 129.
