Megachile parallela View in CoL specializes on the pollen from a wide variety of plant genera in the family Asteraceae ( Fowler 2020) View in CoL , which may account for its wide distribution across North America. This species represents a new record for the BCP and it has been collected in every ecoregion except La Giganta Ranges and the Cape Mountains from 2013 to 2023 by CARCIB (39 ♀, 13 ♂), ECOAB (5 ♀, 1 ♂), and MABC (19 ♂, 13 ♀) (Supplementary material 1).
