Megachile montivaga is widely distributed across North America. We reviewed one male collected in the Central Desert, BCS in June 1938 (CASC). Additionally, the BBPT collected this species in the Coastal Sage Matorral in June 2020 (1 ♀), and Chaparral May 2022 (2 ♂). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 225.
