[ Holotype: ANSP; ♀ Nevada, USA]

Anthidium placitum is distributed throughout the western USA and BC, Mexico. We reviewed specimens collected in the Baja California Mountains in Sierra Juarez in May (4 ♂, 2 ♀), and September (4 ♂, 2 ♀) 1981; and Succulent Coastal Matorral in June 1985 (1 ♂; SDNHM). The BBPT collected two females in Coastal Sage Matorral in May 2022. Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 199 .
