Hesperapis (Carinapis) macrocephala Cockerell, 1924 View in CoL

[ Holotype: CASC; ♀ Bahia View in CoL San Francisquito , Baja California, Mexico; May 10, 1921]

Hesperapis macrocephala is only known from Arizona, USA and the BCP , where it has been reported in the Lower Colorado Desert in San Felipe in 1963 by AMNH ( GBIF 2023 About AMNH ). Additionally , we reviewed specimens collected in the Lower Colorado Desert in Bahia de los Ángeles in April 1973 (3 ♂, 1 ♀; EMEC). The CARCIB team collected one male in the Vizcaíno Desert, BCS in April 2019. See fig. 271.
