Hoplitis (Alcidamea) grinnelli (Cockerell, 1910) View in CoL

[ Type: USNM; ♀ San Gabriel Mountains , 533 mts elev., near Pasadena, California, USA; July 15, 1909]

This species ranges from southwestern Canada to northwestern Mexico. Within the BCP it has been previously reported in the Coastal Sage Chaparral, and Central Desert by SDNHM ( GBIF 2023 View Materials ). Additionally , we examined one female in Chaparral in Sierra San Pedro Mártir in June 1980 ( SDNHM). The BBPT collected this species in the Coastal Sage Matorral in April (5 ♀, 1 ♂), and May 2022 (3 ♀), Chaparral in May 2022 (3 ♀) , Baja California Mountains in Sierra Juarez, and Sierra San Pedro Mártir in in May 2022 (15 ♀), and Central Desert in March 2021 (11 ♂, 6 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC , and ECOAB. See fig. 250 .
