Materialexamined. Holotype. Female ( HNHM), Petroşani, 1.5 kmbeforeLainici, beechforest, 45°16.255’, 23°22.542’, 413 m. a.s.l., leaflitter, 27.X.2007, CsCs- KJ-VVP. Para- types 5 females (3 in HNHM, 2 in NHMG), 5 males (3 in HNHM, 2 in NHMG) locality and datesameasintheholotype. 2 femaleparatypes, Oltenia, PoianaMărnului, pineforest, N45°21.083’, E22°38.284’, 1371 m, leaf litter of pine, 02.XI.2007, CsCs- KJ-VVP. Description. Female. Lengthofidiosoma 630–640 μm, width 370–440 μm (n = 6). Shapeofidiosomapear-like.

Dorsalidiosoma (Fig. 1). Wideandribbedlateralsectionsonvertexabsent (Fig. 2). Marginalanddorsalshieldsfusedanteriorly, dorsalshield ca 285–290 μmwideatcaudalmargin. Pygidialshieldsmallandrounded (ca 35–37 μmlongand ca 40–41 μmwide, placedbetweenposteriormarginofdorsalshieldandanteriormarginofpostdorsalshield. Postdorsalshield ca 73–76 μmlongand ca 310–320 μmwide. Allsetaeondorsalandpost- dorsalshieldssmooth, needle-likeand ca 39–50 μmlong, setaeoncentralareaofdorsal shieldplacedonsmall, stronglysclerotizedplatelets. Setaeonmarginalshieldneedle-like and ca 26–30 μmlong. Surfaceofdorsalshieldcoveredbydeep, ovalpits (Figs 2–3), other shieldsondorsalbodywithsmoothsurface (Fig. 3).

Ventralidiosoma (Fig. 4). Sternalsetae (St1-St3) shorter (ca 15–23 μm), St4-St5 longer (ca 40–42 μm) smoothandneedle-like. St1 situatednearanteriormarginofsternalshield, St2 atlevelofposteriormarginofcoxaeII, St3 nearanteriormarginofgenitalshield, and theirlength ca 7–9 μm. St4 situatedatlevelofcentralareaofcoxaeIII, St5 onadgenital platelets, St6 placednearbasalmarginofgenitalshield. Surfaceofsternalshieldcovered bysmallovalpits. Sternal, ventralandinguinalshieldsnotfused. Surfaceofventralshield coveredbyovalpits. Inguinalshieldwithonepairlong (ca 45 μm) andneedle-likesetae andcoveredbyirregularpits. Sevenpairsofsetaesituatedonventralshield (Fig. 8) similar inshapeandlengthtosetaeoninguinalshield. Twopairsofsetaeonthemembranouscu- ticle, betweenventralandinguinalshieldspresent, centralpairofsetaeshorter (ca 20 μm) than lateral pair (ca 43 μm) (Fig. 6). One paratype, one of central pair of setae on membranouscuticleplacedonventrianalshield (Fig. 7). Twopairsofadanalsetaeandonepostanal setaneedle-like, short (ca 18–23 μm) andsituatednearanalopening.

Genital shield ca 140–142 μm long and ca 110–112 μm wide, its shape ax-like, with roundedanteriormargin, itssurfacecoveredbyreticulatesculpturalpatternonbasalarea. Adgenitalplateletspresentwithasail-shapedprocessesontheiroutermargins. Genital shieldsituatedbetweencoxaeIIIandIV (Fig. 5). Peritremeslongandstraight, stigmata situatedbetweencoxaeIIandIII. Tritosternum (Fig. 9) withwidebase, tritosternallaciniae dividedintotwolongbranches.

Gnathosoma (Fig. 9). Corniculihorn- like, internalmalaelongerthancorniculiand smooth. Hypostomalsetaeh1 long (ca 70 μm) andsmooth, h2 short (ca 23 μm) andsmooth, h3 similartoh1 inshape, ca 55 μmlong, h4 marginallyserrateand ca 17 μmlong. Cheli- Figs 1–4. ceraewithlongandsharpenedapicalprocessonfixeddigit, movabledigitshorterthan fixeddigit. Epistomemarginallyserrate. Palpswithtwoserrateventralsetae, othersetae on palp smooth ( Fig. 10 View Figs 10–14 ).

Legs. LegIwithsmallambulacralclaws ( Fig. 11 View Figs 10–14 ) andwithsmoothandneedle-like setae; otherlegsbearingsmoothandserrate, pilosesetae ( Figs 12–14 View Figs 10–14 ).

Male. Lengthofidiosoma 610 μm, width 370 μm (n = 5). Shapeanddorsalaspectof idiosomaasinfemale, exceptthecaudalareaofdorsalidiosoma: pygidialshieldabsent, postdorsalshieldnarrow (ca 44–46 μmlongand ca 300–305 μmwide) andcoveredbyoval pits (Fig. 15), setaeonpostdorsalshieldasinfemale.

Ventralaspectofidiosoma (Fig. 16). Surfaceofsternalshieldwithsomeshallowoval pitsoncentralareaandwithdeepirregularpitsonmarginalareas. Fivepairsofsmooth, short (ca 10–12 μm) andneedle-likesternalsetaepresent. St1 placedneartoanteriormarginofsternalshield, St2 atlevelofposteriormarginofcoxaeII, St3 atlevelofcentralarea ofcoxaeIII, St4 atlevelofanteriormarginofgenitalshield, St5 nearposteriormarginof genitalshield. Inguinalandventrianalshieldsfused. Positionandshapeofventralsetae andornamentationofventralshieldasinfemale. Genitalshieldcircular (ca 60–62 μmlong and ca 55–56 μmwide), withoutsculpturalpatternandwitheuanalsetae. Itsituatedbe- tweencoxaeIV.

Nymphsandlarvaeunknown.

Etymology. Idedicatethenewspeciesinmemoryofmydearteacher, colleagueand friend, theexcellentacarologist, SándorMahunka (1937–2012), whohelpedmyworkinthe fieldsofacarologyandzoology.

Remarks. Currentlythree Trachytes speciesareknownwithsail-shaped processesontheoutermarginsoftheadgenitalplatelets. Theseprocessesare roundedinthespecies T. decui Huţu, 1983 , andpointedinthe T. micropunctata Huţu, 1973 andinthenewone. Thedistinguishingcharactersaresummarized in Table 1.
