1. Neomitranthes capivariensis (Mattos) Mattos (76:1981).

Mitranthes capivariensis Mattos (1966: 53) .

TYPE:— BRAZIL. São Paulo, Capivari, Colônia Capivari, 20 August 1895, Edwall s.n. ( holotype: SP!).

Fruit description:—Fruits globose, sometimes pyriform ( Figure 2 ), 6–15 mm in diameter, green when immature, changing to red, becoming dark purple at full maturity.

Notes:— Mattos (1966) described Mitranthes capivariensis based only on flowering material ( Edwall s.n.). It was known exclusively from the type collection in the municipality of Capivari, SP, and was recently collected with fruits in the municipality of Cunha, in a high altitude rainforest ( Maruyama 6357).

Specimens Examined:— BRAZIL. São Paulo: Cunha, Trilha das Cachoeiras, 4 km after the beginning of the Serra do Mar State Park-Núcleo Cunha, June 2021, fr., A. Maruyama 6357 ( SORO!, SP!, SPSF!).
