Diagnosis
Female. Dorsal shield smooth, oval with lateral margins slightly concave medially, setae j1, j3, s4, Z4 and Z5 very long, rest very short, almost minute. Ventral shields smooth, ventrianal shield vase-shaped with preanal pores close to setae JV2 posteriorly. Fixed cheliceral digit with nine to eleven teeth and movable digit with three. Calyx of spermatheca cylindrical. Macrosetae SgeI–IV, Sti III–IV and St IV present. Tarsus I also with a long seta ( Denmark and Muma 1989).
Remarks
The type specimens of this species were collected from Citrus sp. , Key Largo, FL, USA . It has a worldwide distribution and was also collected in Australia, Mexico, Guatemala, Jamaica, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, South Africa, India and Thailand. In Iran it was found on date palms ( Kamali et al. 2001). This species is not yet known from Israel.
