Atypus formosensis Kayashima 1943 View in CoL
Atypus formosensis Kayashima 1943: 43–44 View in CoL , pl. 5, figs 2, 4 (type specimens lost during World War II, also see Schwendinger 1990). — Lee 1964: 11, pl. 1, fig. E. — Schwendinger 1990: 355.
Remarks. Kayashima (1943) described this species and provided an illustration of its body. Schwendinger (1990) examined one male specimen collected from Taipei, Taiwan, and pointed out that this species resembles A. karschi but differs in the anterior sigilla being remote from the anterior margin of the sternum, the unpigmented retrolateral patella I, the palpal femur with a deep furrow, and in the less strongly folded upper distal corner of the conductor.
