Designations not validly published:—The ‘names’ not validly published that are variously associated with the three varieties recognised in Kalanchoe miniata (see ‘ Taxonomic notes:—’, below) were comprehensively discussed by Smith & Shtein (2021: 123–124).

Nomenclatural note:—The typification of the name Kalanchoe miniata and its homotypic synonym, Kitchingia miniata , was dealt with by Smith & Shtein (2021: 123).

Taxonomic notes:— Kalanchoe miniata is an accepted species (see Boiteau & Allorge-Boiteau 1995: 68–71, Descoings 2003: 166, and Smith & Shtein 2021: 123–124). Apart from Kalanchoe miniata var. miniata , i.e., the autonymic variety, Kalanchoe miniata var. andringitrensis ( Perrier de la Bâthie 1924: 21) Perrier de la Bâthie (1928: 19) , and Kalanchoe miniata var. anjirensis Perrier de la Bâthie (1928: 19) are also upheld ( Smith & Shtein 2021: 123–124). The synonymy of these three varieties was comprehensively discussed by Smith & Shtein (2021: 123–124).

Kalanchoe miniata is included in Kalanchoe subg. Pubescentes .
