Length: 9–13mm (101 specimens)
Collecting period: April – October, December
Head: Black, anterior part of clypeus, labrum and palpi brown, posterior part of clypeus black; distributed with fine punctation; cranium vested with dense, predominantly pale, setae; head including eyes slightly broader than anterior width of pronotum.
Antennae: Dark-brown to black, A1 to A4 sometimes slightly paler, with depressed pale and dark setae; antennomeres triangularly dilated from A6 or A7 onwards, A10 broader than long, or as long as wide.
Pronotum: Red-brown to brown, surface anterior to transverse depression mostly black; surface anterior to transverse depression finely and diffusely punctate, posterior of transverse depression more coarsely and irregularly punctate; vested with anteriorly directed and erect dark and pale setae; length:width ratio 1.14:1 (broadest at middle).
Scutellum: Brown, with pale setae, finely punctate.
Elytra: Black; basal third with a red-brown macula (side margins bordered black), margined posteriorly by two yellowish pigmented transverse maculae (spanning from the lateral margin to mid-way towards suture) with dense, pale, depressed setae, between these maculae with a semicircular sickle-like pattern of pale setae, apical third with a pale yellowish pigmented transverse fascia (not always pigmented towards suture), with dense, pale, depressed setae; basal third regularly and deeply punctate with 6 to 7 deep rows, only sometimes extending towards posterior transverse fascia, the black part with fine, dense, punctation, diameter of punctures larger than interstices, apex densely and finely punctate; basal third with longer, erect, pale and dark setae, middle part predominantly with dark, posteriorly directed and semi-decumbent, setae, apex with dark setae gradually more erect approaching apices; length:width ratio 2.24:1.
Legs: Brown to black, base sometimes paler, with dense, erect, pale setae; tibiae with longitudinal carina.
Ventral surface: Abdomen black to brown, thorax brown, with pale, depressed setae; 5 th ventrite of males deeply emarginated.
Aedeagus: Asymmetrical, tooth-like structures distinct, large parameres.
Distribution: Nepal, Bhutan, India.
Differential diagnosis to T. auratofasciata and T. javana : The antennae of T. soror are triangularly (less stronger) dilated from A6 onwards; besides differences in punctation, also the coloration is different; the brown basal macula of T. soror is smaller, and less precisely bordered than that of T. auratofasciata and T. javana ; parameres and pygidium also differ.
