Chinasa sapa Dubatolov, Volynkin & Kishida View in CoL , sp. nov.
( Figs. 22–23 View FIGURES 20–23 , 35 View FIGURES 32–35 , 44 View FIGURES42–44 ).
Type material. Holotype ( Figs. 22 View FIGURES 20–23 , 35 View FIGURES 32–35 ): ♂, North Vietnam, Mt. Fan-si-pan, Cha pa [Sapa], 2400 m NN (22.15’ N 103.46 ’E), 8–29.V.1993, leg. SinajeV & SimonoV, slide MWM 31590 Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM).
19 Paratypes: N VIETNAM : 18 ♂, 1 ♀, same data as in the holotype, slides MWM 31590 (♂) , MWM 31599 (♀) Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM) .
Description. Adults ( Figs. 22–23 View FIGURES 20–23 ). Forewing length 12.5– 13 mm in males and 14 mm in females. Forewings dark brown; yellow costal margin contrast, but at apeX there is dark brown stroke; apical half of outer margin with triangular yellow dash crossed by dark Veins; dark postdiscal spot at costa distinct. Hindwings light brown, slightly lighter at anal part. Male genitalia ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 32–35 ). Uncus slightly widened at apeX, with clear apical denticle; ValVe Very broad basally; cucullus slightly shorter than sacculus, rounded; distal saccular process narrow, apically pointed, bent dorsally, with numerous and long setae at base; aedeagus slightly S-shaped, Vesica membranous, with broad diVerticulum narrowed apically and haVing short and broad, rounded subbasal subdiVerticulum; Vesica ejaculatorius originating subbasally. Female genitalia ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES42–44 ). OVipositor short and broad; apophyses anteriores and posteriores of same length, long and thin; ductus bursae moderately sclerotized, dorso-Ventrally flattened, strongly broadened anteriorly; corpus bursae pear-like, membranous, without signa.
Remark. The new species is Very similar eXternally to Ch. costalis costalis and can be differed only by the genitalia structure: in the male genitalia of Ch. sapa sp. nov., the uncus is slightly broader, the ValVes are much broader basally, the distal saccular process with much stronger and numerous setae basally, the diVerticulum of Vesica is shorter and much broader basally, with much broader subbasal subdiVerticulum; the female genitalia differ by the anteriorly broader ductus bursae and the smaller corpus bursae.
Distribution. The species is known from Fan-si-pan Mts. (North Vietnam). The record of ‘ Ilema costalis Moore’ for North Vietnam, Hoang su phi (de Joannis 1928) may also belong to Ch. sapa .
Etymology. The species name refers to its type locality, Vicinity of the Village Sapa (Laokay proVince, North Vietnam).
