One cotype designated by Pic and labelled as follows: Label 1: ( INDIA): 'UP (Uttar Pradesh), ' Gonda , Jonakpur ( Janakpur ); 14.iv.1911; For. Zool. Coll. (Forest Zoologist Collection)'. Label 2: With number '32'. Label 3: ' Bruchus maculatithorax Pic , Cotype', hand written by Pic. Label 5: 'Cotype' printed on a yellow label.

Remarks: Cotype is intact and in good condition. Currently it is known as Sulcobruchus maculatithorax ( Pic, 1928) .
